– On 12/June/2014, Hung Viet Company took  part  in Hanoi Workshop on ” SB Drain (Prefabricated Horizontal Drain) Technology with Sustainable Development – Experiences from Japan ” by the National University of Civil Engineering Construction (NUCE), Center of Promoting Japan-Vietnam Civil Engineers (CJV) and Thai Miltec International Co.,Ltd
The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the technology Wicks horizontal permeability and the change from traditional methods (sand drainage layer) develop methods to SB Drain (Prefabricated Horizontal Drain) for PVD in the background processing technology soft soil in Japan. The workshop attracted over 100 participants from ministries, agencies, departments, construction firms and a number of universities in Vietnam, representing the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, experts participants from Japan and Thailand, the teachers and students of the National University of Civil Engineering. At the seminar, leading experts from Japan, Thailand and Vietnam presented the advanced technology and experience sharing on this technology in the field of construction.

TS. Seah Tian Ho – Expert senior geotechnical, Alfa Geotech Ltd. and lecturer at the Asian Institute of Technology presented the contents of “horizontal drain Drain SB”. TS. Seah Tian Ho said horizontal drain technology is advanced material technology of Japan has practical applications for many years. These materials have advantages such as lightweight, easy to transport, simple construction, easy control, low cost, and this is particularly environmentally friendly materials.

Assistant Prof.  Nguyen Hoang Giang – University Lecturer Construction has presented workshops on ISO 9355: 2013 (Reinforcement of soft soil with absorbent sponge – Design, construction and acceptance.) Vietnam Standard 9355: 2013 is compiled on the basis of sectors standard 22 244-1998, 22 nganh236-1997 standards and construction standards 245-2000.

According to Prof. Le Duc Thang, deputy chairman of the Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical works Vietnam “This is very exciting workshop! For us – those who have many deep thoughts and experiences in this field attended the conference also gained many good ideas, many open issues. For those who do not have much experience and they are the students an opportunity to learn about this technology, expanding knowledge and accumulate valuable experience. ”

The conference good end and although time is not long, but overall, the workshop was part of the benefit and experience of the experts for Vietnam as well as provide opportunities to learn more about the experiences of above areas of Japan.
